Concours De Elegance Hilton Head SC
« on: November 12, 2006 - 01:26:22 PM »
Hey everybody my wife and I went to the Hilton Head show and auto auction again this year.
Here are the MOPARS that were there. The Lime Green 70 Challenger R/T Convertiable was advertised as a Chrysler Exec. car and was suppose to be have the most options of any e body built. I find that hard to beleive when it only had two fender tags. I have seen some cars with 3 fender tags. I wish now that I took a photo of the tags but I didn't. The car was nice but a number 2 car. It could have had some better trim and the interior was worn but not ripped. The car sold for $ 145,000.00 which I thought was pretty fair for a 440-4barrel. The thing that got me was the guy who bought the car didn't know anything about it. He liked the color. His wife turned around and bought a 65 Alpha Romero for $ 56,000.00 because it was RED and she liked it. Oh it must be NICE !!!
Other cars sold:
70 440+6 Cuda plum--$92,000.00
70 440+6 Super Bee plum--$ 64,000.00
67 Hemi GTX red---$ 92,500.00
70 Hemi Cuda yellow--I missed this one going through.
58 Chrysler 300 392 Hemi Conv.--$ 156,000.00
69 COPO ZL-1 Camaro silver--$ 450,000.00
Some old porsche--$ 660,000.00
Hope you like the pic's.

Great pic's!  :clapping: For some reason I'm partial to the green Chally R/T convert!  :roflsmiley: The wife and I saw a red one (383) this summer at the Mecum sale. That car was extremely loaded and only had 2 fender tags too.
70 Chally R/T Convertible- Yes she's really got a HEMI, no she's not a Charger!

Hopefully, the buyer of the Chally will join the board, so he can learn a little bit about his "pretty colored" car...

Looks like it was a fun time, JS27. Nice pics!

Thanks for the pics, nice show I'm sure. Did you get any pics of the rare old foreign cars such as the Bugata's etc. As far as cudabuyers post, that green would grab anone's attention, and haven't you ever herd the term "Resale red" ? But we know the high impact colors are attention getters, right?  :2thumbs:
