Cons , I hate Autos
 833 all pro , increases the value of the car & is far more fun to drive

Both are great transmissions, but personally I like the 4 speed, an automatic transmission has it use, but there is nothing like grabbing gears.

I like to grab gears, but it is also nice to just relax while you drive your antique and enjoy the ride, instead of worrying about up/down shifting.

Well you need to ask yourself a few questions:
How often do you plan to drive your car? Daily or Weekend only?
What was your car originally and is it a rare version?
What parts do you have handy?
What is you daily driver like? Do you like it?

I have to agree with CP,  gota row the boat down the street.

IMO, with a 727 you're just pointing the car, with an A833 you drive it.   :poopoke:

The auto eats HP , there seems to bee some bobble switch that will not let it shift while cornering so when I get to the miidle of a corner & want to power out of the corner you jump on the gas pedal & it waits until you are out of the corner then it will kickdown & give you the power After you do not need it any more , funny thing is I have rebuilt autos & cannot find that switch ???
 Mainly Autos Are boring & I keep hitting my face on the windsheild when I go to use the clutch to shift

I think 4 speeds are much more car - driver interactive.  I feel much more a part of the car when I'm rowing.  If you just want to cruise around in your pretty car or race it at the track then auto would probably be better.  If you want more the feel of riding the wild beast - go shiften.

I almost sent a co-worker throught the windshield because of this, and he almost did not believe me when I tried to explain why it happened.  :misbehaving:

Hello NZ440RT I have a 1973 challenger Rally.  Currently it has a 727 tranny.  I have owned a manuel corvette and love driving manuel transmission cars.  Since I already have the car and the A833 tranny, I thought it would be much cheaper to convert my car than to try and find one.  Plus I went specifically for the 1973 because I wanted a car that I could find with a decent body and for a decent price with all intentions of driving it  regularly.  So to answer your question I want the car for Fun and show.  I dont care much about the resale at this juncture.   Thanks for your thoughts they were very helpful.

Another option is the 727 with a manual valve body.  Kinda like a clutchless stick.  That's what I run in the Beast and it works great for me...    :cooldancing:

No worries, sounds to me like a perfect candidate for a 4-Speed conversion (oh how it hurts to say that).  :walkaway:
