I've had a bad experience with a body shop myself.  Not nearly as bad as your's though.  One thing I can heartily recommend is using American Express.  They gave me back every dime I had paid the body shop through AMEX.  I just wish I'd paid everything through them.  They'll go to bat for you and they've come through for me every time.

Oh and Oldschool, thanks for the nomination.   Is your platform going to be "Mopar or Nocar"?  :clapping:

I am waiting also. I am in the process of getting my cars bodywork done and paint and I am hoping you get the better of the dingleberries trying to take advantage of you.

Sorry to keep you hanging gang...

I was waiting to hear back from a "friend" in the resto shop as to the status of my car but he was away last week.  Today he is back and he said the Cuda was allegedly painted and packed up, unassembled in an enclosed trailer out back. But has not seen it yet.  He said he will do some more "fishing" tomorrow.

I spoke with my attorney last week and she is well prepared to do battle if necessary and says they have no legal right to hold my car hostage.  She asked that I make one more trip down to the resto shop tomorrow to see if we can work this out as adults.  If they are unwilling to budge, I will call her and they will get a court order to release the car into my custody.

The only problem is that all of the judges are away this week on a seminar so we can't get a court order until Monday.  I don't want to tip my hand with the "court order" card until I pull up on Monday with my trailer and a sheriff with a court order in his hand. Then the whole process of consumer fraud litigation will begin.

Let the games begin... :stomp:  Nobody F***s with my Cuda...period.

Odd that they moved it into a trailer....

If it were me, I would check on that right away. If the shop owner will not tell you where it is and let you see it, borrow his phone or use a cell phone and report it stolen right then and there.

:iagree: Let the cops haul them off to jail right away if they try to stash the car.  :swear:

I got my fingers crossed and hope it all works out. I would want to know where my cuda is when you talk to them and ask to see it. I would not tip my hand as to anything you will do.

I don't think I'd want my car inside an enclosed trailer...those have a way of dissappearing if not hooked up to a vehicle, especially if people know they store cars in there.
