Updating the ignition system
« on: November 15, 2006 - 12:57:49 PM »
I will be replacing all my sparkplug wires with new MSD brand wire and boots. I would also like to install a new ignition coil but don't know with what one to go with? This is for a 318 with electronic ignition.

Go with a 'high vibration' MSD blaster coil. I'm not sure how other brands are, but you can mount it in the factory location without any vibration issues. 2years, no issues, daily driven.

cheap and unnecessarilly BIG are the key words to describe that coil. Petronix for the stock look or MSD are the better choices

This is the coil I was speaking of. It is stock sized. Perhaps you were thinking of the big yellow super-coil they have?  :dunno:
