Burnouts: Asphault vs. Concrete

better as far as for the car? smoke? i'd think concrete would be more fun to play on.  never tried it.

I have a 20'x20' concrete pad for working on cars that i use
It doesn't get ripped to shreads like asphalt does
and the black rubber marks look way cooler against the white

That's what I thought, pro-concrete.  Like Goody suggests, which is easier on the tires?  My guess is concrete.

if you're doing a burnout, the idea is to fry your tires. If you just want to spin them and not make any smoke, use some water. Otherwise, they're both rough on tires, difference being negligable.

If yer talkin about for racing, the track usually has compound down. The burn out box most of the time is concrete. As the first hundred ft or so.  I usually spin for about 4 or 5 seconds and roll out in third gear. The tires should be sticky by then. Then I stage at half stall or around 1800/2200 since I have a heavy car right now and jam it on the 3rd yellow.  My 2600 lb 72 cuda I launch on the transbrake at 5500 rpms. But I have 17x33 tires on it so it hooks good and leaves hard..1.18 60'  If you do a long burn out, yer just wasting tires

I have left divits in Asphalt doing a brake stand, I don't think concrete would give as easy.  My guess is hot top is easier on your tires(it's pretty soft)
