Here is another hint.

All 70 cars could have had one of these and just a few of the very early 71 cars before a big change over.

Ok, here is another clue. This is not a hidden part that you have to disassemble something to find it.
Actually, it is a very visible part.

You I think are dropping hints like atom bombs, but IF I have clued in here, I still don't see it.

My lame guess of the night is the rubber tips on the end of the 70 sun visors, but you said plastic.
