    Makes me think of an A/C part. Exapaxnion valve or what ever you call the thing that cycles the compressor off/on.

    I believe you are very close Bullitt, the color throws me though, possibly been painted? Maybe it's the evaperator temprature control thermocouple.  :clueless:

    I have a trunk light that I have been toooo lazy to install. I haven't seen it in a while, I don't think this is it.  :bricks1: The key here is the coiled wire. Mine wasn't like that. I have NO guess, but isn't that normal?  :smilielol:

    The coiled wire threw me too, but I think that the item has been stored with the wire wound up and ahs been stored for so long that the wire maintained that shape.
