Here are a couple of clues:

This was an upgrade option.

From the different pictures that I have seen, April's, MEK's and Carlwalski's cars don't have them.

Sorry dutch, not part of a carburetor.

I will have to take a look around some of the member's cars and see if I can find one with this setup.
