Another nOOb.....
« on: November 20, 2006 - 09:04:24 PM »
Well, guess you guys have a another newb......just found this site.  Seems to be right cool board.  Anyways, my name is Bryan and I have 74 Challenger that rescued from the heap.  I bought it in the foothills of NC, and it was in need of some TLC.  I've chosen not to go the restoration route with this car because of the amount of money it would have needed to get it to that "pristine" condition that those numbers matching cars have.  Besides, who wants a 318 rallye car?

Anyway, to make a long story short, I put on 2 goodmark full replacement quarters on her to get rid of some of the rot caused by the vinyl top and dirt around the wheel openings.  I'm in process of finishing up the rear suspension...just need to put the finishing touches on the home brewed watts link.  I split the factory wheel houses and moved the inner portions to the frame rail.  The front suspension consists of an AlterKtion from Riely Motorsports.  Power is going to be provided by a 500 inch stroker, ported Eddie heads and healthy solid lift cam.  727 torque flight to a Dana 60 with 4.10's and some 315/50/15 mickey thompson drag radials rounds out the drive train.

Finished product is going to be 2003 viper silver with a black vynil top and flat black strobe stripes.....possibly a blackout decal on the rallye hood.

I've attached a couple pics so you can get an idea of what's going on.  I have also listed a couple other links to the other site that I frequent that has some in depth pics and info of the build thus far.

You know, I have never even thought about that..! :roflsmiley:  THanks for the warm welcome, there are some awesome looking Cuda and Challengers on this site!  I was surprised to see that the site was so active.  Most other Mopar "specialty" boards aren't quite so active...

Welcome to the site - Yes, I was surprized how active this board was also. After being a member for a while I reealized why - #1 There are a lot of great people here, that have formed some very close relationships over the years and it isn't just for the single common interest of their cars. #2 - I haven't found another board with the knowledge base that this one has. When you have members that devote as much time as some of these people do for the overall betterment of the hobby, you know that you have come to the right place. I am not going to get into any names, but in time you will see what I mean. #3 - They just make you feel downright welcome.
