Bumper plating recommendations for Kansas City area????
« on: November 21, 2006 - 10:01:03 AM »
I'm looking at having the front and rear bumpers rechromed on my '74 Cuda.  Not knowing who replates in the Kansas City area, does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

BS, have you compared rechroming with buying new repro bumpers? I was wondering which way to go with my cars bumpers myself. Any quotes on rechroming costs per bumper?

bb - got one quote for $285 each...seemed a bit steep, but I don't know if it is or not.  What do repops run?

Last time I checked they were 250 a piece for brand new ones and I read a post the other night that said new bolts are included. This was from YearOne.

$285 actually isn't that bad of a price. The repops go for just about what the rechroming would cost you, but then you have to pay for shipping. It's really a toss-up as far as pricing, but I can't comment on the fit or quality of the repros. Sorry.  :-[

 :iagree:
I had mine re-chromed for something like $225.00 a bumper which included some repair work on the rear. I like knowing that I've got the original bumpers and fit that the car came with.
