Having the parts painted seperate from the body, was it the same paint?  I'm guessing its not going to match up perfect if not.

It will when it's done. I got a gallon and a quart of PPG base coat clear coat to lay on over it now that it's together.  The car hasn't been in the sunlight more then 3 hrs for the last 31 years. The paint on the car now is from all the same mix. The new paint I have will cover the whole car completely. When I pushed the car outside, I really couldn't see a difference in the color.

Some like the quarter scoops some don't. But with the number of these cars left, it is better to retain the history. The other people who used to own these m46 cars and didn't like them, have already did their own thing to them and most of these cars are just gone now. So at my age in life, and with the hundreds of mopar muscle cars I have owned or scrapped. I just want a clean car the way it was. I got 2 other e bodies that are an eyefull and handful to drive that are being made how I want them. But go searching the rest of this year and try to find an m46 car forsale. It's hard to do. Word of mouth found this car for me. I was told it was just a barracuda. He didnt even know what the car was himself and didn't care.  Word got out a a plant I was at in the desert that I had mopar race cars, and this crane operator came to me. It's mine now, and I ordered the headliner, padding, and sail panels from Dante 2 hrs ago, so I am cleaning up all the trim now and getting ready to install the windoww in back. I am also cleaning the dash frame today and installing it. Sure is nice to work with parts that rusted or plastic and trim with no gouges or scratches.

On one final comment. There wasn't even a rust bubble in the car where the scoops were mounted from the factory. The car was fairly clean when I got it. But torn completly apart....ALAN

The only car I saw in the flesh that had the M46 option looked good to me. I dug on the black scoops on FE5 red barracuda. The only pic I have seen here is not very flattering and does not give the same look. I would definitely leave them on not only because of the rarity but because they look good when done as the factory did it. Beautiful car moparal!!  :clapping:

I agree, as original they look awesome with the blackout and the pinstripes. I have yet to see one in person, you just never see them.
