Hey any little bit counts! Some days i go out there to work and it feels like i got nouthing done.Others i go out and get a ton done. Some things just take longer, and by the looks of it your going to be routing the electric water pump, rad hoses and stuff in AN??? ,that should take some time, but it will all be worth it in the end!

Huh, seems like all my pics went south.  I'll see what I can do about that later.

Well, it's been a while, but I have been through two job changes and a move since the last time I posted about this car.  I finally got the dream job I wanted - and a 3 car garage to boot.  (beats the heck out of the small 2 car I had before I moved.   Also gained 10 acres and live in the foothills of the mnts in VA.   I love it out here. :)

To make a long story short, I'm ditching the carb for fuel injection.  I have just about all the necessary things to do it except the throttle bodies and the fuel pump.  Seeing as how there is a shortage of intakes for Mopars that will accept a large throttle body and have a low profile, I have decided to make my own.  Here are some pics of what I accomplished today.  Seems nice to get somewhere (finally after a year) and make some progress.

I'll pretty up the design later.  These are just the plates that will bolt to the head and provide a basis for the intake.

Here you can see it matches up pretty good.

Gasket on the bottom.  Pretty dang close.  :clapping:

I've used stuff from ross machine racing to build up my intake, they have lots of extrusions for reasonable prices. Depending on how you want to make the runners, I think they have oval runner tubing.

Thanks for the link!  According to their drawing, it looks to be a little small-ish, but I guess one could section it and weld it back together.  I like that little velocity stack they have too.

Are you going to go with the megasquirt or something else? Keep the work going on!

Hey, and thanks for the hood! I repaired the few rust spots from it last summer and primered the hood and painted the underside in bodycolor. At the moment it's mounted on the car and waiting for the final alignment when the winter decides to give up.

I've got a Holley Commander 950 pro right now that I plan on using.  I bought it off of a buddy of mine for almost nothing.  Later on down the road I may try something new, but until then, I'll stick with what I have.

Glad you are getting good use of that hood.  It was in real good shape - just had a that little bit of rust on the front. Sounds like you have it all fixed up!!!  :)

Here's a couple pics of the car as of today.  Looks like all the other pics were lost in the beginning of the thread.  I'll have to go back and see if I can figure out which ones were which, lol.

I wish I would have had the engine in it so I could get the correct front ride height.  This thing has one nasty stance to it with the running works in it. :)

2003 Viper Silver with a black vinyl top, black strobe stripes and the R/T hood scoop blackout.  It should look quite nice with that combo.

Made the other flange today.  Seems like work is taking up all my fab time these days.

Got some more work done on the modeling of the manifold.  Rough model - I've got a couple more things I want to add to it.  I'll eventually make the front and top of the plenum removable.  This will allow for runner length adjustments and configuration changes in the future (throttle bodies on top or in front).

Low, aint it?  I might make it a little higher and get some more length to the runners.  Right now, they are about 3 inches long.

After I get the manifold model finished and the intake runner length where I want it, I'll start making the die for the intake runner.  I'm going to make a two piece die that comes apart  - and use some .060 AL for the runners.  I'll try my hand at die forming them and see what happens.
