A 727 small block trans from a 73 car 3C382724

A 71 318 running engine 1B23*54*

Would like to find my original 340/727 out of my 73 cuda and the original 318/904 out of my 70 gran coupe

Pulling the 318 out of my challenger one day.  Is it worth keeping around?  Nothing special about the car and it's far from numbers matching with the rear end gone...

If you have a space you can slide it into that's out of the way, I personally would save it. Odds are it won't ever add much value in your lifetime should you decide to sell it, though, so if it's taking up valuable space...dunno. Scrap metal, maybe?

I don't have space for it and I move a lot.  Maybe I'll bury it somewhere.

Yeah, I've hauled my car across the US on several occasions. Over the last 20 years its logged more miles on a trailer than under its own power.

I say keep it if it's the original engine.  Find a spot under a bench and hang on to it.  BTW, rear ends to not have VIN numbers on them so no worries about that not being numbers matching, none of them are.

Mine doesn't have that problem it's my daily driver the last 6 months!  I put about 60 miles a day on it.  In fact it's time to fire it up and head home now... I can't kill the 318.  It smokes like crazy but keeps going.  As far as I can tell it's never been rebuilt although it does have a different cam.  It's been on a trailer once when the starter conked out on me. 

 Cody keeping it is an idea.  it I've been thinking of rebuilding it for the fun and practice once it's out.

Hey, I would like to find the original 383 for my dads 71 Barracuda. Vin is BS23N1B442427 my dad bought the car in 1981 out of a junk yard here around home ( Seaboard area of NC ) only history I know about the car is that it looked like someone had been drag racing it with a 440 in it when he bought it and it had been painted white.

I will keep my eyes open.  I assume you are checking craigslist, mopar swap meet at Bandimere in Spring, and other swap meets.
