What are the specs of this cam?    :dunno:    Might know more about it's characteristics if we knew that....    :cooldancing:

most their grinds are designed for small block chevs , don1t belive me ? virtaully any Mopar grind is listed with exactly the same part # in the small block chev listings , this means that tthey are not taking advantage of the larger .904" diameter lifter that Mopar uses & in every case where I have replaced a Comp Cam with an Engle /UltraDyne / or lunati I have seen proven gains of 20+ hp , I replaced a Comp Cam in a 440 this spring & the rwhp went from 274 to 345

So a custom grind is OK?
Do you like all the Mopar  "purple shafts"?

I am running a Comp Custom grind roller set up in the Beast.   Runs great, sounds great, and so far has held the correct valve lash quite well.  I have tried to look it up on the Comp Cams website and there is not any part or grind number anywhere close.  Must be a top secret stealth cam...    :smilielol:    :cooldancing:

That explains a lot to me!

I had one in the 80's and the box said "chev" on it!  :faint:

Sorry guys, I was called out on an emergency job when I posted. I had to fly out to Pittsburg then drive into Wheeling WV and go south for about 40 miles, so I'm stuck here for 1 more day.  Back to my post tho...

The 275 is a mopar grind and I have only ran comp cams. The dart runs 10.20's  and my 72 cuda will run a 7.96    It makes 1028 hp and this is on comp cams. I often have them grind my own designs. One of the mags did a test on a 440 with the 275 and it made like 538 horse from what I was being told. I have no proof. So I know nothing myself about this 275 cam as it stands. But it's just a street car as it is. If I was drag racing in this car, I would be running my handicap dial in so the hp gain or loss isnt a factor since you race yorself anyways. I just was wondering if anyone had tried this cam themselves....ALAN

What would you suggest for a 8.5 to 9:1 360, stock iron heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, Performer intake, 600cfm edelbrock, 4-speed overdrive unit, 3.23 gears, in a 3400lb car?  (Non-Mopar Performance)

I bought the cam from comp yesterday, and it showed up today. I am commited now so when the engine is complete, I will know then. I figure it will work good with my 6pk set up. Not looking for a large amount of HP. The car won't be raced. Just some average cruising.

All of my friends that have run Comp Cams have ended up repleacing them with another brand becuase the kept breaking valvetrain components from cams all the way through.

The xehl series are nice cams....904 mopar lifter designs and fast rate of lift. A buddy has that stick in his 408 smallblock stroker with e-heads and it runs great. Idles well, lots of manifold vacuum for power brakes and easy tuning. I think you'll really like it.  :2thumbs:
