What was your first car?
« on: November 24, 2006 - 06:13:37 PM »
I wanted an E-body really bad but my first car was a 75 Chrysler Cordoba. My dad bought it for me for $200. I wish I had not thrashed that car, it had some neat options. Red/white top/white leather buckets, air, console with slapstick, rallye gauges, 400 dual exhaust, 3.21 sure grip 9.25 rear. When I finally tore the engine down after killing it a few years later it had 906 heads on it. My car did not have the unleaded gas disclaimer on the dash either. The only 2 options my car did not have were power windows or sunroof. I kind of wish I had it back. I would be interested to know what you guys had as a first ride.

My 1st car was a 71 340-wedge Duster. It was white with black stripes. I wished I would have kept that car. It was a rocket.  My son's 1st was a 74 Satellite Sebring Plus with 400 Magnum, 4-speed pistol grip. tuff wheel. I could kick his butt for selling it. My daughter's 1st is a 78 Dodge Aspen Super Coupe. Which she will never sell.

My very first car was a 1954 Chevy 2 door sedan. However my 72 Challenger that I still have was the first car that I drove. I didn't get the 54 running until after I graduated high school. I had the Challenger all through high school.

1970 Dodge Dart Custom.

360 from a '71 Newport, four barrel intake form a marine 340, 3.23 suregrip from a 1972 Chrysler wagon in a B-body housing from a 66 Satellite.

Parts were easy to find and free at the local landfill when I was 16.........

I sold the car at 19 and bought it back at 22 for $100.00 after the kid blew the engine. It had severe rust by then, so I parted it out and the Airport Fire Department cut it up for rescue practice.

Great car, I miss it.

My first car was a 1963 Ford custom 300 with a 352 engine and a 3-speed overdrive transmission. I still have it and it need a complete restoration from sitting since 1973. I pulled the 352 engine out and put it in my 1963 Ford Galaxie 500XL that had a blown 406 3 2bbl carbs that it came with from the factory.

64 1/2 Mustang convertible, 260 V8, auto, PS,PB,PT, AM radio. Owned if about 2 years and had 3 accidents before getting my driver's licence. Sold it to the garage to settle my repair bill and bought a pair of shoes with the balance...true story. Hey, that car inspired me to buy my e-body. BTW, it was white too.

My first car is the 71 convertible I still have.  I wanted a hemi Cuda but could not get my Dad to loan me 6,000 to buy it (1979).  So I spent $2,200 for my convertible, which was too much for the car at the time. I am the third owner.   It was all original with 1 repaint when I got it. The A/M F/M radio and console cassette was still in the car when I got it.
