    Man some of you guys had some cool first cars! I can compete a little in the first bought though. 1970 FJ5/FJ5/black  340 'Cuda with black hockey sticks, slapstick auto, rallye dash, 15x7 rallye wheels.

    1st car....55 Chevy, 2 dr hdt...red/cream..301-3spd/overdrive

    1st new car...68 GTO conv...green/black 400-4spd

    1st MOPAR...73 CUDA, red/blk 340-AT....probably the worst car I have ever owned

    1st Vintage MOPAR...69 Daytona....green/white....440-4spd

    the worst lemon of my life....picture taken when it was brought home new....a few hours later the rear end was crushed

    a multitude of mechanical problems from day one that followed the car till it's early demise (it drowned)....the car was a true mechanical a$$hole from new till the end

    ....it was rear ended the first day with just 79 miles on the odometer....hit again in Texas a few weeks later,the roof was  crushed by a tree in an ice storm in my driveway in Indiana...sideswiped sitting at the curb...slid thru a barbed wire fence backwards(driver error)....rammed in the front by an unhappy ex-wife(not mine) and eventually drowned in about 10 feet of water (again, driver error :smokin:)....all before 1978....

    LOL...wouldn't want to see that guy driving a Hemi if he crashed a /6 car...haha.

    My first car was a 71 340 Dodge Demon, originally green car with green interior but nicely cloned to a 340 car with rallye dash, bucket seats, new black interior, B5 Blue with the black hood scoops and stripes.

    Real solid car, bought it when I was 15 (1995) for $5500cdn, had a sure grip, fairbanks 727 with manual reverse valve body. I ran a 13.4 in the quarter when I was 15 with it. Sold it to a friend who sold it back to my brother as his first car 2 years later for half the price.   :bigsmile:

    Sounds like most of you had some pretty cool $hit. Remember the van craze.. I'm really dating myself now.. but in the day, my high school party wagon was a 64 ford van that Ma Bell (the original phone company for you younger members). used as a srevice van. I can still remember my Jr year woodshop project... a bed...er.. a... I mean a couch for it! My shop teacher singled me out for that one!   :naughty:  :roflsmiley:

    A '67 Olds Cutlass, 330ci "Jetfire", Powerglide tranny.

    I was about 13 and it was sold to my Dad from my uncle.  It died on him so he gave it to me to play with and I got it running.  That got me going on auto repair.

    My first car was a '50 chevy that my dad bought for my older sister and I when I was 14.  My sister didn't get her permit so Dad took the car back. 
    The first car I bought myself was a '55 Dodge with a 270 ci Hemi.

    1995 Gunmetal Nissan Primera - Sexy little car. Got it with 40,000km and sold it with 250,000km
    Owned it for about 3 years and drove the crap out of it. Good town cruiser and surf wagon.

    My first car was a 1974 Vega GT bought it for 50 Bucks in 1980 ,it was the biggest piece of junk i have owned but hey that was what i could afford.
    First REAL car was a 1971 Dodge Polara 9 Passenger Wagon that was Dubbed the blue whale had 360 4 bbl and Glass Packs , I tore the rear seat out and lined the well with styrofoam and put 1/4 Kegs  :cheers: in there. Damn i miss that car

    1st car:
    1966 Dodge Dart GT, 273-V8, buckets, green inside and out, auto trans, console, a/c. Owned from 1979-2002. I modified it over the years: 4-bbl 500 cfm Carter carb, Holley intake manifold, electronic ignition, shift kit, 3.23 gears replacing the original 2.93s, removed the a/c to lose some weight, unsilenced air cleaner.

    It wasn't a muscle car, but could do 0-60 in 8.5 seconds and low-16-second 1/4 miles and get 14-18 mpg.
