1st one, a brand new 1971 Duster 340 4spd, Black on Black. am/fm radio, ralley wheels of course, 3.91 gear, no power nothing. That thing was pretty darn fast. I put a Accel dual point dist. in it (remember those things) re-jetted the carb, better clutch (zoom) and 1 5/8" headers. Street raced it had fun and sold it with 17,000 miles to by what else my 1st used '70 383 4spd Cuda, which a couple years later turn into a '71 340 SuperStocker...Those were the days......I know I have a photo of it somewhere on super 8 film.....

Man, When you read through this thread you realize how many of us have been car nuts since birth and then to realize that most of us tore the crap out of most of those cars  :banghead: Makes you appreciate guys like Goody that already understand the value of what he has.

While that is true and it is cool that the young guys appreciate what we used to abuse, if you look around you will see the same mentality we had, only on newer cars. New kids buy and abuse what is plentiful. When I was a teenager you could buy an e-body for dirt,'Cuda's, SE's, R/T's, didnt seem to matter much because there was another one a block down. My  brother in law has an R/T SE and a 340 billboard 'Cuda in his garage and he spent less than 2k buying both, he just had the foresight to hang on to them. I know a guy who had wrecked his T/A, his dad bought him a 70 Challenger 440 R/T with a toasted tranny for $75. He clipped the front end. Numbers matching B5 blue with white bumblebee stripe, 440 with air. Nothing at all wrong with it except it now had a missing front clip and a burnt transmission. Stuff like that would never happen today but it does all the time with 80's and 90's cars because they are worthless and plentiful, just like our mopars USED to be.

pic of the 'Cuda's billboard that my brother in law has owned since 1984

P.S. I do love reading about all the first cars and first mopars. Some of you guys really had a blast it sounds like

1980 Dodge Mirada. A nice looking car, but a real dog. 318 2barrel with really high gears. It would barely do a burnout on gravel. I tried to blow up the 318 by leaving it in low and holding the throttle to the floor. At 75 mph it finally floated the valves. Those were good times.

This was my first car.

1967 Baja Bug! Stripped Interior,6pt roll cage, 2 Bucket seats (Fiberglass) and 18 Gallon gas tank where the back seat use to be!

It had a fiberglass front end, 6" lift, and full tubular bumpers front and back. Also had Flood lights on top.

1800cc engine in a 4 speed. It looked so cool! And I thought it was sooo fast, but turns out..it was just REALLY Loud.  :roflsmiley:

I still miss that car to this day, and I WILL Build another!

1st Car/Truck

1971 International Scout, (converted to all Chevy running gear by my father), 305, auto, 4X4, Corvette Yellow, Custom exterior and interior.  Driven daily to school.

Traded it in on my 71 Challenger

I wish I still had it, but I would still trade it if I had to do it all over again.

My first car was a 1966 Dodge Charger.  I drove that through high school and sold it in 1980.

'65 Bel Air 4-door, followed very quickly by a '69 Sport Satellite and then the Challenger, all before I turned 17.

1985 Dodge W150 Power Ram when I was 17. It was 4wd and had a 360. Had it for 8 years. Missed it for the last 6, so I just bought another one a month ago.

I had an AMC Eagle as my first car.  I think it was an 84, but not sure.  What a beast.  it was 4-wheel drive and looked like a roller skate going down the road.  I used to try to do 4 wheel brun-outs all the time  :roflsmiley:  :smilielol:.

One thing it was good for was accidents, I had about 8 people rear-end me in the 2 years that I owned it and my car only got scratches, nothing else.  the other cars ended up with smashed hoods and fenders.

What a classic  :smilielol:

a 1971 318 barracuda. Lots of bondo, but it still looked cool and was already a classic in the 80's.
