« on: November 27, 2006 - 07:49:05 AM »
Most of you guys know my car.Selling due to lack of use.

1974 challenger
body has some minor bubbling and amatuer paint job (5 years old). With 2k in this car in the body you would have an amazing car.All orgional metal except for passenger quater.

Just a quick run down-
factory a/c (misisng under hood stuff)P/S,PDB,stereo,working heat etc

Very fresh drivline:

446",eddy heads, ross pistons ,bigs carb 950 stage 5(just paid 900$),too much to list. Car ran 11.36 with ease and still has more in it. Pump car 90% street car,no roll bar, tubs, battery cut off etc.
fresh 727,manual rev VB,ATI convertor ,deep pan, (all very new)
fresh 8 3/4 moser axles,3.91 suregrip
All new suspension/bushings. Excellnt interior. too much to list.

Built with all name brand high quality parts.

sooo, whats it worth? I really dont know ... :-[

i always liked your car....very well built with attention to detail.

I hate to see you sell it as you've had it so long....but i do know where you are at.

these modified cars are hard to put a number on....a lot depends on the person's tastes who's the prospective buyer.

I'd say from what i remember...your car is at least high teens. Again, i could be off 5k either way...these kind of cars are tough to call.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I agree somewhat with Larry....$15,000-$18,000 would be a good ball park for your car IMO.  :2cents:

I agree.. 15-20k.. a very sweet looking car in the pics.  maybe someday you'll go back. That's why I do not put too much $$ in my car.. never a reason to sell it. It's like a family member now.

I was thinking 22k  :clueless:
everything is only about 4 months to 1.5 years old in the driveline etc

MOTOR:   440-.030 over - .010 .010 crank - clevlite bearings- H beams 1.094 pin, ross 82008 flat tops, milodon single line external static pickup oiling system with deep pan - 296/557 solid purple shaft, edelbrock aluminum heads mildly ported via mopar muscles article-  milled to 77cc chambers making compression 10:7:1 very pump gas friendly - crane gold race 1.5's -manley 3/8 pushrods - Edelbrock performer RPM intake-BIGS stage 5 Holley 950 HP - hooker 1 7/8 headers -K&N extreme filter -accel 8.8 wires, Mopar Performance distributor recurved-Magnum HP throttle bracket-MP alum valve covers-The list goes on...

Electrical:  Brand new MSD 6al,Blaster Coil, Billet Electric fuel pump, Battery relocated to the trunk, Oil,volts, temp gauges on pillar, pioneer CD player, sony explodes,

Trans:  Fresh 727, Cheetah Reverse manual valve body, deep pan, Solid bands, red clutches, new ATI moderate stall 10 inch convertor, new u joints.External tranny cooler.

REAR:     8 3/4 742 case 3.91 sure grip with new richmonds. Royal purple fluid, New Moser axles with green bearings. Espo 6 leaf HD springs with all new bushings, shackles, adj pinion snubber, front and rear sway bars etc. 1.53 60 foots  hanging the tires in the air .New 3inch mandrel bent exhaust.
Interior:   New carpert, custom challenger floor mats, aftermarket seats on factory tracks, headliner, grant signature steering wheel, factory slap stick console, nice door panels etc.

Body:   Amatuer resto done over 5 years ago. In the past two years the car sprung a bubble on the driver lower fender and the driver quater over the wheel lip. Sanding scratches noticeable in areas. All orgional metal except for the passenger quater skin. Solid frame rails with frame connectors. Throw 2k in body and paint and you will have an UNREAL show and Deffiently GO car if you want the car to be perfect.  Glass is all good, new flip top fuel cap, sport mirrors,RT hood,Rt front spoilers, stripes and rear go wing, Car was orgionally a 318 A/C car (all there but udner hood stuff) still has power steering, power disc brakes, etc.

Theres just too much to list about the car . It was my first car, dumped every paycheck i got into it. But lately it just sits and sits. I have no time or ambition to drive it. I want someone to buy the car and USE it. its not a trailer queen but a fine example of american muscle. Pull up to a New z06 vette, no problem, all 3,800 pounds of 70's mopar will leave it in the dust.

Nick buddy, I'd hang on to it man. Your first car, you built it,.........I'm sure if you sell it'll you will be one heart broke individual. Besides, she's sweet to look at and hot on her heels..........remind ya of anything?  :roflsmiley: I sense your mood about this right now, but personally I beleive you will wish you had kept her later. As far as price, we all realize we never get what we invest, but 20K would be my bottom dollar, the way she is built some young gun would love to have her I'm sure, if they can get the money. Nick, I'd agree that you should be able to advertise it for around $20,000.00 and get it. (but definitely try for the extra as the right person may come along and take it for $25,000.00. :2thumbs:   That sucks you plan on selling it, but if you don't have too much interest for it anymore, I guess it's time to move on. :walkaway:

It may be the wrongtime of the year to sell your car with the holidays here. You might have to sit on it a while unless you have offers already. It's a clean 6k body with a bunch of go fast items, so there has to be a specific buyer, which narrows down the margin.  The drivetrain is your car. It being a 74 and todays gas and insurance prices, people are leaning towards the smaller engine/drive train/ cruising cars with a/c and reliving their past. I may be wrong but that's my side of this story. I have one like yours also and it's a 74 no rust triple black and has all the a/c stuff on it. I don't figure it would bring as much as yours. It will just take time. I figured mine was around 10k give or take.

But MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.   And please dont be offended. I think its the wrong time of the year is all...ALAN

Hope you have some kind of reserve on it.  Seems yours is along more then mine and worth more then 13k. Hate to see you loose out on hard cash.  How are you considering getting paid through the auction if you don't mind me asking.  Like a PP deposit and cash upon delivery? Hope all goes well.
