Challenger hood pin installation

 Is it as tough to drill the holes in the hood as it looks like it would be ? getting the angle of the dangel correct looks like a nightmare, or do you drill a big enough hole to allow for a small error?

What I would reccomend is to lay down painters tape and mark the hole. Then use a step drill bit. They seem to work the best on sheet metal. Using the tape doubles as a protector of the painted surface to help minimize chipping and peeling. So far has work for me with hood pins and spoilers. Hope this helps.

It's not that tough to do. The holes for the studs are already drilled in the inner front fenders. There are cut-outs, so to speak, on the underside of the hood too. Yes, you do have a margin for error, as you will have to make the holes in the hood slightly larger than the stud. I can post pics later of mine, if you'd like.

 I see what you're saying, I thought if you had to drill clear through the hood the angle would be tough but just drilling through the skin wouldn't be a problem. a close up of the right place to put them on the fender I would really like to get if I could though. also there are choices on cable length does anyone know which one is correct for a Challenger?  thanks

I don't know what year Challenger you have, but the holes for the studs were pre-drilled for 70-71's. The lanyard lenght is 18" for all Challengers. I hope these pics help you.

Once the pins are in the adjustments are pretty hard to do.

I know, because that is why my hood pins aren't on yet. First I need to save up about $500 to send it to the body shop. They have to rebuild  my hinges. Then line up the doors, fenders and hood. Then he can mount my hood pins. And,who told you where the access holes in your hood were.          Amxguy Mopar Peoples aren't snobs. Just ask the owners and the staff of Carlisle. They look forward to the Mopar Show every year because they love the people.

Hey just kidding about the snob thing, too many years as the red headed step child with my AMC's I think. most car guys are good people but I have to say this forum seems the most helpful and upbeat I've seen yet.
