    OK, this is a dirty little story, so here we go.

    The car was found as you see it in the photos. The car was originally EB3 light blue with a blue cloth interior and automatic transmission.

    The VIN tag was taken from it, and the fellow was somehow able to get a title for it since the car had not been registered in several years. He bought a "donor" body and transfered the T/A VIN to it. He was also able to contact the person (in Canada) that has the matching numbers engine from the wreck. Whatever thr price was, it was too much so the same guy restamped the T/A VIN on another block. He also had a fake fender tag made for it. Somehow, the car caught the attention of MCG and they did a story on it. It was called something like the "Raspberry T/A".

    The article caused an uproar because VIN swapping and rebodied cars are illegal.

    That is not cool! :nono:Has there been a follow up to see what has happened with that car and the owner since? The nerve of some people, and to top it all off he changed the fendertag to change the color of the car :villagers:

    It was at a show this summer, so I guess the guy still has it and shows it as is.  :screwy:

    I have no intention of ever talking to the owner again, he flushed his reputation right down the toilet.

    Thanks Barry for the info on the car, I still can't believe what some people will do. I wonder what will happen when he goes to sell the car or in the event that he has the car until he dies what his relatives will do?

    Now that's a sad story!  That must have been a doozy of an accident...I wonder if the guy lived trhough it?

    If changing the VIN is illegal...and this fool is out showing it off, then can't he be turned in to the authorities???

    Look at where the headlight bezel is on the driver's side. Look at the bulge in the dashpad. This engine was in the front seat by the time this was over.   :scared:  :scared:  :scared:

    Yes, I heard that one of the guys local to him was going to do it but I do not know if he actually did?

    Personally, I report them when and if they come up for sale. It is easier for the cops to establish "intent to defraud" if the car is for sale.

    Yeah it would be hard to nail someone who has no intention on selling the car, doesn't make it ok though....

    Wow. :22yikes: That looks a little worse than my accident I had in my 70 Barracuda. And I know how bad I was hurt. 3 months in the hospital, 1 1/2 on crutches and lots of surgeries.

    I remember that story if it's the same one.  :sly:

    They had a small pic of this car on the cover and claimed it to be a huge undertaking for a resoration or something like that.  They didn't even salvage much of the body. It felt exagerated.

    I was disappointed by the article because I thought it was something like what moparclown is doing but it doesn't even come close to it.  Moparclown should be in MCG!  :thumbsup:

    I think the story said (if I'm not mistaken!) that he found all the T/A stuff (hood, engine, diff.) that belonged to the car and put it all back together or something like that but in a different body.
