Wasn't that a blast? Sorry, bad joke.  :misbehaving: At least you now have an idea of where the car is needing attention on the body. Good luck with it.

Awesome!  Im going to get mine bead blasted, too.  Can I also ask how much it was?  I got a quote from a place a few miles away of $800- $1200, depending on what I want done.

Looks good  :2thumbs:

That is looking good. Now that the weather is breaking here I have a few parts to be putting on mine to get it back on the road. I'll look you up in a couple of weeks and maybe come by and check it out in person.   Doug

Hey Doug gald to see your post.  I could not find a quality shop here so sent it to a place I know in CA.  When I get it back you can come check it out.

Looks great, for its current state.  At least you can see everything that needs attention.  My favortite threads are the full-blown restos that have all the eye-candy pictures.  Nice to see another 383 R/T SE coming back!
Looking for my buildsheet starting with: JS29N0B115###

Looks great and looks like you have you plenty of work cut out for you the next couple of months :drunk: I have a question though, did you remove the SE window plug? I ask because when I removed mine I found a little rust under it, nothing horrible but I wish I would have pulled it when I blasted all the other jambs.

How much did they charge to blast it? How many hours did they spend?

900 bucks, inside and out.  Not sure how long it took them.  I was not there when they did it.

gb70,
Great looking project. Definitely wathcing this one.
I've got a similiar 71 Chally project coming up. Still in paint and need to media blast. Mine although not a vinyl to presently had been and has the same similiar holes hiding under the paint at the front columns. What are you going to do? Repair or reskin? I've got to make that decision once I media blast.

Keep it up!

I need to discuss this more in detail with the shop.  It will be repaired but that one bad spot I am thinking it will need a patch piece welded in.  The front drivers side floor pan will need to be redone, new front fenders, and believe it of not new rear quarters and lower quarter extensions.  Have already replaced a new rear deck lid, lower rear valance, and hood, so there is A LOT of new metal going on.

Years ago it had a tree fall on top of the rear deck lid crushing the lid, and upper rear quarters.  The repair was and is not up to MY standards so this is why rear quarters are going in.
