Nice work on the underside mate, shows it's going to be driven, not trailered.

That is correct.  I debated to have it painted below but two things:

1) That is not how it came from the factory, although I like the clean look of the paint color all below.

2) I will drive this RT/SE a lot and it just makes more sense to me to do it this way.

I'm pretty sure it was painted from factory or at least over sprayed below.

I definitely agree. If the car is a driver do the underside with sound deadener and protectant like you have. Chip Foose and Troy highly recommend this procedure for cars that are built to drive. Painted cars can be ruined or lose their class after only a few months of driving. Where as your underside (and mine) you can take them back into a shop 2, 3 even 10 years later and blast the underside away and it will be like the day it left the resto shop. Worst case scenario is you'll need to touch up the odd thin spot here and there. Definitely the choice for a non 101% factory correct driven cars IMO.

The shot below is after a year of driving, not bad eh.

Looks great!

From my knowledge is that there was paint over spray underneath but not everywhere, and not looking like a mirror ;)  although that look looks great but this car came with this protective coating from the factory on most of the sheet metal below.  I wanted to keep it stock, and I also wanted to not worry about rock chips, grease, dirt and whatever getting on fresh paint.  Like you mentioned this can be reapplied and still look great years to come.

:iagree: IMO, it's an absolute must.

Photos below is a good colour reference and how the two styles look.  ;)
The first photo IMO concentrates on the "mess" behind the grille.
