Katfish, I'm not an expert, but I believe they probably get the 2" at the rear bumper which would be less at the rear wheel. I just measured my other car which has the stock height Espo  springs and got 25 3/8 in the rear to the wheel lip and 24.75 in the front. Tire size 235X60X15 FRONT AND 255X60X15 REAR. Hope this helps.

Mine is 26 inches height the whole way around...
I currently have the smaller torsion bars in but am swithching to the larger ones..
Also the motor is a 500 stroker..
15* rims all the way around
28 inch tall rear tire
26 in the front
I have SuperStock springs in the rear(3400lbs SS springs).
The SS spring are set to the upper bolt hole on the spring hanger to lower the car...

Oh yea! The body work on my car has been done since this ugly pic. and painted curios yellow! :woo:

Thanks for the pics guys, it definitely helps out.

I can see my rear is sagging, I'm in the process of switching out the 8 3/4 (3.55) for a 4.10 Dana. Plan is to move the springs inward so I can get more tire under the well.

8 Pack, car looks good, any pics with that new paint job?

Mopar73340, what springs from ESPO do I ask for?

Thx

Kat, the red car has standard springs, the white one has the heavy duty 6 leaf springs. Both are the stock height springs. They can make them as stated before 1" or 2" above or below stock height. I have found Espo very helpful so just call them and tell them what you are looking for.

Thx for the info,

Now I need to figure out whether I should use the Mopar offset kit, or the Dr Diff.  I guess you have to use the A-body springs with Mopar, where you can use standard E-body springs with Dr's kit.

Use Dr. Diff's kit. His is a true 1" offset as the Mopar performance kit is only a 3/4". Then you wont need a-body springs.

This pic was my rake with a 275/60/15 but now I run a 295/50/15.

Nice rake, must be just as nice now too.

Did you notice any difference in clearance when going to 295? It would be minimal but minimal is all it can take sometimes. My Challenger scrapes, just, when going over speed bumps and that's going over them on angles too.

It's Funny.  I have plenty of room on the outside between the tire and fender now. The tire looks centered in the wheelwell from under the car.  But when I go around turns HARD, the tire rubs a little on the inside fender.  I'll have to see if it's hitting the top of the wheel house or rubbing on the inside wheel house.    I never had any contact with the 8" wheels with 275s

Cool, that's useful to know. I had my cousin who weighs around 250lbs+ (115kgs) in the rear passenger seat.
I took him and a friend in the passenger seat for a 5 minute blat and I could hear rubbing, I thought it was the tire so checked it out. It looked close but even with pressure on the trunk lid it wouldn't touch.

Anyhow, I found out later that my cousin had made the top of the diff housing scrape the underside of my car.
There was a decent graunch mark where it was rubbing.....he is no longer (or anyone "large") allowed to sit in the back. lol Not sure if that has happened to you guys but there isn't really anything I can do to fix it apart from not taking chunky people in the back. lol

I have brand new Mopar performance springs on the rear for stock ride height. For loading up my car,I still have air shocks for a slight lift if I ever need it.   I wouldn't buy the extra 1" or 2" higher springs, because those sit too high and you can't lower them without putting weight in your car.

NZ,
You try gluing a piece of rubber on top of the Diff just to give it a touch of cushion?
a thought...not sure it would do much good but...

Yip, we have now but you're right it would only offer a little protection on the first couple of hits.....after that it would be pretty useful. The guy is a big guy and I did have a trunk full of gear as I was going away for New Years.

ShelbyDog,

Your car sits PERFECT, any problems with front end bottoming out?  What size front tires do you have?

Any chance you could take a measurement from ground to wheel well lip of the front?

Thx
