I do nothing but start and run the car for 10 minutes every 4 - 6 weeks.  If we get a warm day I may go for a 30 minute drive.

Thank you both; and, my '73 sits up high enough that fishin' most anything out from under her shouldn't be a problem, let alone a sack o' brquets (for the foreseeable future, anyway!) and the missus has me to crawl under her car (all original, it sits MUCH lower [almost to low, IMO]) so yeah, that should be "fun".

One last question related to this topic and for any forum members who might be able to shed some light.

Anyone heard of this stuff called "PRI-G"?

A buddy and neighbor is a HVAC mechanic and they do a LOT of work with gov't-installation generators.

He said that is where he heard about "PRI-G" first and then he got real curious about it after he heard the mechanics in the area marinas extolling the virtues of the stuff:

PRI-G Full description: http://www.nitro-pak.com/pri-g-gas-treatment-pint

Quick Overview
Pri-G is a super concentrated, complete fuel treatment that improves any type of gasoline, enabling it to perform to maximum potential. PRI-G’s industrial strength, enhanced thermal stability chemistry reacts with fuel upon contact, and provides multiple benefits to any gasoline engine.

I put Irish Spring soap - original scent in the trunk, under the seats, in the air vents to discourage rodents. DoNotChallengeher suggested it to me a couple years ago and I haven't had a mouse issue since.
Could be coincidence, but seems to work. Use it in my 5th wheel too!

BIGS,

I can imagine getting that charcoal out of the garage come Spring time doesn't score very high on the fun meter.    :eek7:

some years I just leave it sit.  Unless I have an "under car" project coming up.  :dunno:

I'll throw a flannel shirt in the back and make sure my windshield wipers are fresh.

I usually put the car up on jack stands, and then pull it a part in some fashion to fix / improve something.

This winter its a full front suspension rebuild...and maybe a little more

I use thick plastic/visqueen and a 4x8 rubber mat from the bed of my old pickup truck to create a moisture barrier under my car.

All four tires get raised off the cement.

Battery goes into the basement.

I look at pictures of my car all winter long.

I don't start or drive mine during the winter so, along with a bunch of stuff that already been said,  I also put steel wool in the tail pipes in case a mouse wants in there.

I don't do that as I want to see the liittle boogers fly out the back at the speed of sound when I do the first start in spring

Actually I have the hoist and I raise it when I am not working in there. Seems to keep the pests away. Also use those live traps with the sticky peanut smelling paper in them ............ and some mouse poison with a bowl of water beside. Bounce perfume dryer sheets seem to work when my son's Charger was around.
