Bob, did you look at the book I sent you?  Does it help you better ? I suggest you look all the way thru it a couple of times before reassembly. :grinyes:

Yeah, I checked out the book and it is helping me a bit more than the other book.  It's illustrations are good, but for this pic, it's hard to make out where the spring is supposed to go and where the roller is supposed to go.  I did a google search and found an image that was better, so that's where I knew how to place them, but I'm still having a little trouble getting all of them to be compressed evenly.  Is there a secret to this?  :clueless:  :dunno:

They do not have to be perfect, when you put the drum in, you will turn it as you push it in and it will center on it's own. It only has to be close.

Ok, cause I've got 8 of them close, and 2 are ok, but if I spin the gear, then they all seem to move anyhow, so I was wondering about that.  I'm done for the night, I'll take your advice and re-read the book tonight so I know what I'm getting into tomorrow.

Thanks T!  :jumping:

Ok, it's Sunday and no time to rest.  My plan is to have this trani back together today so I can start putting my car back together tonight  :working: and have it running by late tomorrow.  :burnout:  Wish me luck, with 2 kids under 3, I don't know if I'll be able to do it!  :banghead:

TTM,

Should I replace the seal on the low reverse servo?  I'm worried about compressing the spring and getting hurt.  :bricks1:

Yes, you have to change all rubber seals. You need to look at your shift kit also, there should be a shim in it for the rear servo piston. THE SHIM IS A MUST! The spring tension shouldn't be too much for you.

I didn't see a shim in the kit, but looking at the directions, it says to use the short spring in place of the original one.  So I used that and installed the rear servo.  I'm trying to get the guts (rear drum, drum, gears, etc.) back into the case and bolt the pump on.  I've got a c-clamp that I'm not too sure where it goes, but I'm gonna have a look at my parts manual and see if I can find it.

Rear servo HAS to shimmed or you cannot make a manual 1-2 shift without a horrible bind up.
