if I change the small block out in a challenger for a big block, does the k-member have to change?

I believe a /6, and HEMI do for sure, and I recall some adjustments in the Tor-bars ... :working:

No, the small block k member will work just fine with the big block. You may have to adjust the torsion bars up a little, but they will work also.

   :iagree:

You should really have thicker torsion bars for a big block though, but it isn't a must. You will need different motor mounts for the big block too.

I have never touched a Torsion Bar ... heard stories good and bad.  Where would I find a set of hevy duty ones?  Please don't say junk yard...my knees could not take the pressure in this area... :sly:

Pick up a summit, jegs, or Mancini Racing/MP catalog. They are all in there.

There's really not that much difference in the torsion bars. I'm running the stock bars in my Cuda with the 392, which weighs about 200 lbs more than a smallblock, and the bigblock is only about 100 lbs heavier than a smallblock if even that much. An old drag racing trick was to run /6 bars under the hemi cars to get more lift on the launch, and they worked just fine!
