The Daytona is Shelby's Car Now
« on: December 05, 2006 - 09:24:21 PM »
I just dropped the Daytona off at Rick's. He is going over it before it goes to the body shop. I've had the car for so long. Giving it up was tough. :eek4: Now, I have to drive a family car. :puke: And I picked up my new driver. It's still a Mopar . I'll just have to put a bag over my head while I'm driving it.

Yeah Jackie,

Are you enjoying a nice nerdy 66 Valiant station wagon, or what?  :dunno:  :useless:

By the way, if you have to put a bag over your head, it must mean you ran out of make-up?  :poopoke:  :stirpot:

Mike (yeah, go mess with me)  :stomp:

By the way Barry, I acted like a horse's behind last night. I am truly sorry.  :-[

OK, I'll spill it. Just don't laugh. I wish it was a 66 Valiant SW. I bought a 93 Pymouth Acclaim. Only because Rick bought it and went all over the car. New parts- water pump, timing belt, camshft seals. starter, front and rear brakes , paint, carpet, head liner, battery, spark plugs, PCV, oil & filter, cooling system flush, tranny flush, tires, and new emissions and state inspection. For $1600 and he garenteed that I won't have to touch it for a year.

A good friend of mine had an Acclaim from the early 90's.  She drove that thing till the wheels fell off.  It could be a lot worse Jackie! :grinyes:

Thanks Laura, I'll drive it. I'll just keep dreaming of spring waiting to get the Chally out. :2thumbs: But I do miss the Daytona, I've had that car since it had 29,000 miles on it. My Mom bought it new. Besides it will give Shelby something to show until the Super Coupe is done. That will give you another member at Carlisle. Maybe that will help towards getting the tent for free. :2thumbs:
