A couple of big girls
« on: December 10, 2006 - 08:30:59 AM »
Just thought I'd share 2 of our biggest tractors that we have out of our 13, after I got them washed to put away for winter.  Left, a 1984 4450, 160 hp,  on the right, 1991 4755, 200 hp.  Another source of great american engineering!

Sweet looking tractors . . .growing up we had a Farmall, two Allis Chalmers and an Oliver.  Tractors are cool!

Not exactly old iron, but one is an '84, and one is a '91, so yeah, they're getting old.  Here are a couple of pics I found on my parents computer of my '47 GM that I had.  My dad has a bunch of two cylinders we've overhauled, but the pics are on my computer, I'll have to find them.

Cool just love them old two Cylinder JD's  :bigshades:,,,,,  there still a few of them around here in N.Y.,,,,,,  those big  JD's are seldom seen in my area most of the farms are gone ,,,,,,,,,,   Someday I will get an old 2 cylder, a prent I have my eye on a small JD R or maybe its an H not sure but its the smallest 2 cylinder JD I have ever seen,,,,,,,, very cool indeed..........

This my 51 Cub after some motor work and paint , no hood on for testing but it s all complete now minus decals,,,,,,  these Cubs are tiny compared to the big iron your running but still a neat piece of American Farm history...

Thanks for posting the pics :2thumbs:

Looks good Rat, those Cubs are neat.  The "H" is what you are thinking of, the "R" is a Standard diesel two cylinder, fairly large.

farmertan, you'll have to get a pic.  We have a 70 gas, that old girl has just kept popping.  I had my eye on a 70 diesel standard before I bought my GM, but it was out of what I wanted to spend.  Found another pic of some of ours:

The green one is my dad's '38 G, and the Massey is a 1951 "44".  We restored the Massey, and the G was overhauled fifteen years ago, rarely gets used, along with the Massey.  We have:

1938 G
1945 A
1950 B
1951 Massey
1954 70

And those are just the old ones.  Someday I'll get back into it, but right now my passion is in automobiles.

Did all of those 70"s have a pony motor?   My Uncle had a 70 , we have pics but they are on slides can't post them,,,,, but I don't see a pony motor but the angle of the pics are wrong cause I  can't even see a starter motor..........

Thanks for posting the pics :2thumbs:
