TTI sells them, but not sure if they are compatible with your aftermarket head.

440 motor aftermarket heads...

What heads ? Stock port or raised port (location) ?

TTI makes a 2in for the stock location and 2-21/8 step header for the raised ex port.

Just a word from someone that has a 440 in a Challenger. Good luck fitting those headers on.   :worshippy  You have your work cut out for you. I had enough trouble getting 1 7/8 inch primaries in my car. Bang away to get them past the steering box and starter.   :swear:

Hi,

If you are going with 2" primaries or larger, you are aiming for top end power. I just want to point that out. The bottom end will suffer. Maybe you know this, but I didn't until recently.   :banghead:

Mike, that isn't allways the case. Headers are one of those "combination specific" items that needs to be closely evaluated when sorting out the build. For example : My 446 made the same hp (535) with a 17/8 & 2in primary tube header. The torque, however was down 20ftlbs across the board, with the 2in tubes. In this case the 17/8in header was the "correct" size because it maximized peak torque and it didn't hurt any of the top end power.

Throw a stroker into the mix and it's a whole new ballgame. A small primary tube will bring the peak tq to a lower threshold and that will in turn limit top end power. Essentially, the engine's output can be limited by too small a header.

The original poster is looking for a 2in-21/8in tube for his engine. That is the correct size for this type of application based on what i've seen on the dyno with those types of builds.

I bought some very good headers from Headman hustler race division. They were seperate from headman themselves. I had indy heads on a 440 , standard steering and brakes, frame monts up front. They were 2 1/8 by 3.5. . slip on collectors. I had a 5k 8 inch stall, so bottom end was right there at 5k. They are pricey though. Like 800 bucks. But I made 785 hp and 690 tq. Had zero fitting problems, and for a while, I adapted them to the street. I just got done building my new engine and we had to make our headers this time. 2 1/4 x 4.5 exits out the side of the lower fenders. 1028 hp and 790 tq. I'm expecting to run high 7's or low 8's. This is in my same car, 72 cuda, but it's a tube chassis car now....Have fun :2thumbs:
