I am a great lover of American Cars. Especially the End 50s, 60s and the early 70s.. I drove a lot of classic Mustangs, my first Car was a German Ford Taunus GXL from 74 (Knudsen Taunus), but my second, I was about 20 years old, was a67 Mustang convertible. I always loved the Challengers and the Barracudas, but I did not think to purchase one, because they were expensive and the Cudas still are seldom in Europe. I drove a few Mustangs (from 64 1/2 to 70) nearly all models, except of a classic Shelby..

but in 2011 I started to look for an AAR Cuda - which I found at least in Kaiser/MN, that�s between St.-Louis and Kansas City, it was the 4th AAR which I saw myself, and except of some electrical and little SixPack problems it was in a really good shape. It wasn�t necessary that it is a matching Car in all ways, so the seller told me, that the 340 is from 70, but it is not the original one, we reached an agreement and then I bought it and imported it to Germany..

But the real reason for my Mopar enthusiasm is that in 2009 I bought a Challenger 6,1 Hemi SRT8, which ran fantastically! Also I recognized the great retro design, it had some ways of the classic Challengers, Cudas and even parts from the 69 Chargers and the 71 RR in my eyes. Looking�for an AAR Cuda in Indianapolis and Michigan in 2012, I stopped at a Ford Dealer (Ray Skillman Ford) in Indianapolis, just to look for some cars, there I found a 2012 Shelby GT 500 SVT in GrabberBlue... I was angry, because the sellers in Michigan (Zealand) and in Indianapolis (I think it was Greenwood) both did not want to make some trade-offs (they both wanted to have more than 60000USD) the seller at Skillman made an offer for the Shelby about I think 46000 USD, it was a demonstration Car with only 700 miles on it... I bought the Shelby

So I could compare the Shelby with my 2009 SRT8, and I found out, that the Mopar was still better and I sold one of my classic Mustangs ( a 1970 Mach 1 M-Code) just to get a classic Cuda

- after driving�the Shelby a while I decided to sell it again, because (except of its really horny sound) it isn�t really a car which you can drive really fast, it is not comfortable and it�s really not solid in high speed actions...

I decided to sell the shelby too. I gave it to a dealer in Germany near Kassel and bought the 2012 SRT8 Challenger (YellowJacket), which was the reason why I sold the 2009 SRT8 too... So I had a little more money just to come over to US again and to buy the AAR...

I have sold my YelloJacket in October last year, too, because I ordered the HellCat, now I am waiting for it to come...

My 73 challenger had been sitting next to a garage under a cover for about 10+ years, 2 blocks from my house. I would drive by it everyday on the way to high school and college. Car never moved and I never knew what it was because it was covered, all I could see was the sublime paint peaking through the cover so I had an idea. One day my dad called me and said he was riding his bike past the house as the guy was putting a sign in the window. He called me while I was out to lunch and told me about it, I trusted him and told him to play with my money because I couldn't get home in time. He made a lowball cash offer and bought it on the spot. We put air into the dry rotted tires and poured some gas into the carb and it fired up, drove it 2 blocks home right away. No insurance or registration, just wanted it out of there asap before he had any second thoughts

One of my co works wife got pregnant, so he had to sell one of his Mopars(69 Roadrunner, 70 Challenger or 74 Cuda). He decided to sell the Cuda. My fianc� said it would be an awesome honeymoon. So the Cuda became our honeymoon.

I saw my '74 on Craigslist. Seemed like a pretty decent price but I really didnt need another project,plus it was an hour and a half away so I did not call. A couple months later, I saw it again for 3 grand less and only 1/2 hour from me. That was enough to at least go look. Turns out the guy wanted a Charger, went 6 hours away to look at one that turned out to not be as advertised, so on his way home he stopped to look at this one. He made the guy a low offer and took it home. As he pulled in his driveway, a friend called him about a Charger in Oregon that was all he wanted so he bought that and put the Cuda back on Craigslist for the price he paid. Was not the year I wanted but he included a '70 tail panel so now I just need the '70 grill assembly. No motor so looks like I will be going the gen lll route.

I got two 70 Barracuda's a few years ago by getting another car towed for a lady that was cleaning up the yard of her deceased husbands house....he had the two Cuda's that were parts cars for his U code Cuda and he also had a station wagon for parts that I got hauled to the scrap yard....she gave me the Cuda's for having the wagon hauled off....scored a base model 70 Challenger for $400 bucks a few years ago....I scored a 71 Challenger R/T about 30 years ago when I was looking for a motor/trans for my 71 Roadrunner, got the Challenger for $200 with another spare running 383....I scored my 72 Cuda 340 3 speed car for $100, as a parts car....

Walked into a CP dealership in April of 1972 and signed an order form for a 1972 Cuda 340 and took delivery of it about 5 weeks later. I still have it!

Hello all, new to this web site as I just purchased my very first e body. I started working at a
dodge dealer in 1983 when I got out of high school. I became friends with another tech there that had been a Chrysler mechanic since the 60s. He told me about a AAR Cuda that he bought when he returned from Vietnam and drove for several years then parked it in his garage. We maintained our friendship over the years and he always promised me that I would have first crack at the car when he finally decided to part with it. Well he call me a couple of months ago and said that he was turning 70 in a couple of months and it was time. This is one of those stories you always hear about and dismissed at urban myth but it really happened. So I am now the proud owner of a one owner 1970 AAR that was bought new at Campbell Chrysler Plymouth in Venice Fl and spent its whole life here. It is 100% bone stock (except one repaint) and I have the original window sticker and bill of sale. I feel very fortunate to have acquired this treasure and look forward to tinkering with it.

I found mine '72 on Graigslist Tampa. Saw it in February and March. In April it was still not sold. Carefully emailed the owner. after some negotiations and car inspection that it actually exist. I was willing to buy it without the inspections, my wife considered me crazy and convinced me to do the inspection. Was worth the payment. We agreed on the sale price.
when I bough it, and ofcourse now.

I did her pics after 1 year and this year, she used to call the car Betsy, I off course don't, and she loves what I did with car, she offered me a 71 challenger this year but could not convince the wife. She had it on eBay.
