In June of 1972 i had graduated from high school and my part time job became full time.  I walked into the Plymouth dealership a couple of months later and ordered a new 1973 cuda with a $60 deposit.  4 weeks later my cuda came in and the rest is history.

Great story hooD. It is the same as mine except I did it a year earlier and did not end up getting the car.
Congrats, I wish I had gotten mine then and had it all these years.

I was looking for a car to drive back and forth to work in. While looking through a PennySaver type advertisement paper. I noticed a 1970 Dodge Challenger for sale at a local Dodge dealership. Went to look there it was on thier used side of lot. A recent trade-in w/ 40k on the odometer, K2 Orange, Burnt Orange interior under the hood was a 225 slant 6. decked out in SE trim including 14" rallye wheels. Asking price $1,000. After a drive around the block, sat down w/ the salesman hashed out some details w/ a down and 50.00 a month. And she was mine in March of 1973. She's still mine with 562k on the car not the mechanicals, she's still a beauty.

Brads 70: check under newbie thread, 67VERTMAN, posted a link for me of the pics he took of the car. I believe you'll remember the car from a year ago. You did leave a positive comment.

I found this 73 Cuda right across the street from my house back in 1998. I hate to say it, but I didn't even know it was there in the garage until it was out in the driveway one day with a for sale sign on it  for $4000.00. They were renting and hadn't been there too long. It had been painted (poorly) a metal flake midnight blue, had a rallye dash, a 340 that had about 5000 miles on a rebuild, and all the parts were there. My son was a junior in high school so the car going to be for him. So I got together 25 hundred dollar bills and sent him over there to make the offer. I watched him from the window as he spoke with the owner (a short conversation) and he walked back to our house with slumped shoulders and a dejected look and told me he said no. I told not to worry about it, that we would do something. It was less then 10 minutes later when we saw the owner and wife heading up to our front door. When we answered the door his wife spoke up and said, "He will take it" and the rest is history.

I found my 1970 Chally on Craigslist in 2012.  It was on a farm in North Central Montana.    The parts not pictured were in a grain bin.

It cost me less than $3K. 

I have done a lot of bodywork.  Its work in progress.

I remember seeing those photos years ago....  Some guys are great at taking cars apart & storing parts where they may or may not find their way back to the car....
