I found my challenger on ebay bid on it and lost out to a sniper. The guy that owned it send me a second chance offer the next day the high bidder did not follow thru. So I sent him a deposit and hooked up my trailer and left Ky. for Michigan. I always wanted a challenger with some muscle to it now I have one. I love mopar cars but I also have soft spot for 1970 mach 1 . I have one of those also. Bill :droolingbounce: :droolingbounce:

I work in dialysis clinic and one of our patients knew that I worked on old vw vans and beatles. He asked me if I was interested in buying an old plymouth that he had on his farm. I blew him off since it was a plymouth and not a vw. About six months later he asked again if I wanted the car. I finally drove out to his farm and saw that it was a 70 grand coupe. I saw the car and thought it was ok. This is how I found this forum. I asked the people here if 1,300 dollars was to much. Everyone said to buy the car so I went ahead and bought it. This was last year. The car is in good shape no rust just some small warts on the door edge by the front fender and in the rear quarter. The car has never been wrecked and is a 2 owner car. The car is complete except for a missing door glass and no front fender. Some kids threw a rock through the glass. I was shocked that the thing runs. Well this is how I ended up with my 70 plymouth.

Found my car on e-bay. Spent 2 years looking , found it down near Ozark, MS. Picked it up in March 2004.. yeah, it had some issues, but by and large I think I got a pretty good deal on it. Now it's pretty much the way I want it, and it runs nice and strong -  MSD rocks!

In 1979 I was working weekends at the family business (auto parts store) in a strip mall.  There was a chain chicken place out front called Farm Basket, and a girl who worked there started driving up in a white '71 Challenger that looked so darn nice from 40 feet.  Sounded good too (glasspaks).  I ate there most days.

After a while the car disappeared.  A while later I asked the girl about it and she said it had lost transmission function (wouldnt shift out of first), her Dad was getting her a new car, the the Challenger was for sale.  $300 firm.

I made arrangements to visit her place, test drove the car (in first gear).  Interior was already suffering badly from Las Vegas vinyl rot (the sun kills all plastics) but overall it looked and drove fine.  Bought it, my uncle towed it to the family shop, and I started working on it on Sundays.

I wish I knew then what I know know; the trans might have been relatively easy to fix; instead I took it to a tranny shop and had them replace it ($300, doubling the cost of the car).

Over the next few months I saw a $1500 T/A and a $1800 Superbird (unknown engine, all grey primer).  But I had my car already, so that was that.

Still have the car in my garage!

How I found my car back in 2005.....

Bought a plum 383 R/T, seller told me he had this car out back....I went to look at it....looks like the typical R/T but wait.... look at the VIN tag and included broadcast sheet the letters "V" and "N96"....SHEEEZZZZ! I let another member on here have the 383 car, since it was the right car for him, and I brought this home instead.

The 2nd picture is what the car originally came from the factory....stripe delete with black vinyl top....and what my end result will be!

This is the way my buddy found my T/A  back around 1996. I got the car from my friend about 3 years ago. This picture kinda reminds me of Rare_T/A's car. Funny how the door rusted in the same way.

My Dad found my 440+6 Cuda, sitting right where you see it in these pics. In the second owners driveway right out in the open on a quiet backstreet in sleepy little Los Banos California, a small Central Valley farm town. The original shaker bubble and other stuff was in the garage and came with the car. It's no cherry but it's pretty much what you see in the pics, nice solid original, #'s matching 440+6, column auto, 3:55 SG, 14" Rallye's, bench seat, base gages. Pretty much just an El' Strippo CA car.

Thanks Dad! :cooldancing:
