The US Postal Inspection Service may be interested in this case.  They will go after just about anyone who uses the mail to take advantage of postal customers.  As a matter of fact, my wife - who works as an Analyst for the Inspection Service - is working on a case in which the suspects have been selling items on eBay, taking payment and not shipping the product.  I'm sure that if enough people complain to them, they will investigate these claims.

I got this e-mail from him today. Seems like he is still trying to resolve the problem.

"No, I didn't rip anyone off.  It was a Canadian shipment (and 8-3/4 carrier) and I am still fighting with UPS.  The container it was in busted through the bottom and they are giving me a hastle getting it through customs.  I asked that they just send it back to me, but they say the Canadian Customs people have possession of it.  I don't know what else to do other than wait.
 
The fenders can be had for $300 both sides, no rust period.  Shipping will be actual after getting them off and boxed up.

He may be telling the truth. A while back, I was talking with a guy, and he told me that he refuses to order any of his stuff from Canada any more, because sometimes it gets tied up for a long time at the border.

Well if Jim was telling the truth he would have told me...but as of yet I have not heard from the f...............!! first he said it was at the shop and ups was suppose to pick it up,  then he said he shipped it ...now he said it stuck at the border.. if it was Customs would have called me long time ago...

I had a simular problem in the past for a 70 cuda grill,I went to the post office and filed a mail fraud report.The federal govenment doesnt mess around with these claims,i suggest you do it.After the mail fraud division contacted the seller i had the grill within a week,they will prosecute!

If the hold up is customs there should be paperwork that was sent to the seller.  The seller should be able give you a copy by email or fax if customs has it.  If UPS is invlolved there is also a tracking number.  It is lousy that you are having this problem.

I've dealt with this guy before, DO NOT send him any more $$, he is a ripoff artist. He sold me a 383 long block, i specificly asked him if it turned free, he told me yes. When I picked it up, it was in the middle of a monsoon, so being the trusting type i did not check it, and he did tell me it turned over. Get it home, and it's frozen solid. After trying to get him to make good on it, which he would not, I gave up. I do have a plan to visit him someday......
