OUCH, that really sucks, you know the ole saying, what goes around comes around. He'll get his sooner or later. He deserves what ever bad publicity we can dish out. Hope you get your money back.
I really got burned myself by a guy named Mike Rector out of the Sacremento California area (his name should be spelled Rectum) who was selling complete rearends, professionaly rebuilt diffs etc. I called him and ordered a complete rearend for a 70 Challenger, sounded all on the up and up and saw some nice stuff he was selling on eBay. Ended up getting the unit on a pallet and it looked good all painted up nice. I just slid it up under the rear of my car and didn't do any further checking for a week or so. Decided to go out and see how good of a job he did. This was suppose to be complete with brakes, new axle bearings, 489 3:55 suregrip etc. Once I got looking at it more closely, I saw the big X on the diff, 741 housing,
pulled the brake drum off and no brakes, the axle would move in and out about 1/4", pulled the axles and diff, all used, no suregrip, he'd smeared new red grease over everything, guess he must have thought I'd think it was all new or something, pits in the ring and pinion. JUNK. The only thing good in it was the axles and the banjo housing. Just another jerk out there waiting to put the screws to someone. Thanks for the heads up Chryco.
