mirror nut installation for side mirrors
« on: December 12, 2006 - 04:30:33 PM »
I have new mouting nuts for the painted mirrors on my challenger. I do not have the installation tool. I was told a way to "set" the nuts in the doors without using the tool but I forgot how they told me to do it. Something about using a bolt and nut and tightening it up until the nut "seizes". Can someone walk me through this process so I do not screw it up? thanks a bunch

you may be able to squeeze the nut using a bolt & a washer & holding the back from inside the door

Thanks for the replies, this is the method I was told about. The more I think about it the more I think I would rather get the rivet tool and do it right. I dont think I feel comfortable doing it the "economical" way.
