Dave,

Please remember this also:

People are braver and are much more willing to offend or be abrasive when hiding behind a keyboard.  They probably wouldn't be so brash if they spoke to you in person.  The computer emboldens them and makes them say things in a way that they never would in person.  I ignore those folks, but I always try to keep on top of what my C-C mainstay buddies like you are saying.  Your contributions matter to me, but some folks don't.  I have learned which opinions I value and and yours is one of those.  I try and give all newbies the benefit of the doubt, and will hang with them until they show me that their opinion and mine don't work well together.  When that happens, I only sporadicly if at all read what they post.     Oldschool

Dave, Don't let the small things bring you down. MEK stays even with all the abuse he gets :poopoke: And besides we just made friends and I'm taking some abuse for posting my pic. And you wanted to see what I looked like so it's your fault and you have to stay. Really I don't think anyone one wants to see you leave.

Dave, don't delete your account mate, the newbies? will come and go, there have been a lot worse over the years, trust me. I forget that young punks name but I'm sure many of the older members will know him. He was talking down V8's etc.....Anyhow, don't let it bother you mate. If it's serious enough to think about deleting, PM the mods and ask them to talk to the parties involved for you, or better yet, take a break from the board but don't delete your account. That way you'll have your old trusty CCC Bed waiting for you when you've relaxed and refreshed yourself.

What did I miss??  I've only been gone a couple of hours.   :scared: :scared:

Dave...buddy, friend.  I haven't read yet what you are referring to, but don't let anyone, especially a newbie, get your goat!  As someone else has mentioned, they come and go and if they decide to stay, they learn from members like you what is acceptable and what is not acceptable here.

Don't you go anywhere!  I'll help work this thing out...after I figure out what it is.  I'm going on patrol!

Hey Dave,

I don't post often mostly because the things that I would say have already been said.  I do try to spend time here because I enjoy the camaraderie of the main body of the members.  As was said earlier, don't pay attention to the crackpots.  Enjoy the members who mean something to you.  And, if this time of year is getting to you reach out to some of us.  What I see a lot of here is members helping members, and now we're trying to help you realize that leaving CC.com would be a loss for us and probably for you as well.

My suggestion,  sit back - take a few deep breaths - and get back in the saddle.  Enjoy those who enjoy you.  Plus, given time, the deadbeats will leave - they always do.

Stick around - it'll get better!!  You know it has to, Laura's on the case!

 :iagree: with everyone as well.

I have not posted all that much, but I do read a lot of the threads. I am a newbie, but I am looking for help, not usually dishing it out. I would hate to see a senior member like yourself leave as I get closer to getting my 71 Challenger back and road ready. I  hope you change your mind.  And Merry Christmas all.

Dave - don't let a know-nothing bring you down. You are a great asset to this site , so please do not throw it all away for someone whose opinion means nothing anyway!

OUCH!

Dave, I too am still trying to figure out which post set you off, but as everyone has said, don't let a newbie get you down any...He doesn't represent the rest of the board you've been around the past couple years...You've gotten to know us and we've gotten to know you, so it'd be a loss if you did leave.
