Pinion gear movement ? OK or No ?
« on: August 27, 2003 - 01:40:23 PM »
Quick question...

on a 8-3/4 complete chunk, (489, suregrip, 3.55) Gears spin smoothly so far.

if you take off the Yoke, and grasp the pinion gear, where the Yoke splines are on it,  it can move side to side slightly.    If the yoke is in place, its solid as a rock, no play.

Is that typical ?
