My personal experience is that I've shipped hundreds of packages thru the US Postal service, with NEVER a damaged in shipping incident. The one time I used FED X, BINGO! Damaged goods. Now I've also recieved 100's of items thru the mail, and the only three instances of me getting damaged goods is with FED X. So yeah, I think they have a problem, I dont care how many people they have working for them, their service stinks. If you saw this box, you'd know that the way it was bent showed somebody just did not give a rats a$$ about what was inside it. I would not be surprised if it was intentional. Maybe they have disgruntled employees?
I know it can be fixed, but if i wanted to go that route, I'd have the trim on the car today fixed. I bought a nice set of trim that before FED X got it's hands on it just needed to be polished. Now it needs a full resto. Thats not what i paid for.
Was it packed correctly? Not from what I know, but that does not forgive the carrier from using due care in performing it's duties.
I just bought a set of drip trough moldings on e-bay...shipped thru USPS....came thru without a hitch, in perfect shape. Boxed well I might add.
Just venting here people...this is VERY frustrating seeing trim damaged that is just not available reproduction. Thats what we need, is someone to repo this trim for e-bodies, especially the wide piece at the bottom of the windshield. I dont have the time to waste buying this stuff 3-4 times to get 1 good set.
I'll spend a good 2-3 hours fixing this stuff and polishing it. before it was bent, i'd have spent a 1/2 hour polishing it and I'd have been ready to put it on the car.
