Special Delivery
« on: December 21, 2006 - 05:54:51 PM »
I was out tooling around town last night in my '74 Challenger and a guy pulls up next to me in a van & starts yelling. I had my buddy in the car with me and I asked him what the yo-yo was doing all the yellin about. My buddy rolls down the window and the guy yells to me that he has an original "Go-Wing" with all the brackets/parts left over from his long gone Challenger. He said it was in mint condition and would sell it to me for $50.00 bucks!! Wow, you gotta love it. I had been looking around for one for my car, but they were kinda pricy and I had just plunked down a pile of change for a new rear end. But this was a special delivery. What a deal when they come to you! And a perfect price to boot!! I got his name & phone number at the stop light, so I'll call him tomorrow!! Special delivery!! Merry Christmas to me!! Maybe somebody will drive up tomorrow with a six-pack set up for $50.00 bucks....wishful thinking! :roflsmiley:

Sounds great!  I wish he'd come up and say he has a car just like that but it has a weird engine in it . . the wires go through the valve covers.  Sell it for $500 bucks!   :grinyes:

Great score!

$50 for an original is super!  Even if it was a repro in great shape with the hardware is a great deal!

See what other stuff he has!

My first set of 340 heads were acquired in a similar manner.  A guy in a van pulled up to the nursery where I worked (plants not kids) after he saw my 71 Challenger.  He opens up tha van and asks if I want a set of 340 heads for $50.00, naturally I said yes and the rest is history - 22 years later I still cannot pass up a good Mopar deal :banghead:
