Wow! Looking sweet! Your moving right along Joe. I love getting the new metal onto the rusty car it once was, its a great feeling after u busted ur arse drillin spot welds ripping off bondoed rusty metal etc and getting it all ready for the new metal to go on. When you see the car in the stage your at now,its a big relief, atleast for me anyway. Keep at it!  :ylsuper:

Yep, good times now, then comes all the sanding :banghead:  But no more getting cut finger/hands from sharp edges.  Still need to figure out how to get the trunk gap smaller.  Doesn't seem to be anyway to move it in... pretty frustrating.  Oh well, I'll figure out something.  And I didn;t forget ya on the fender yet, I need to let it sit inside and melt off the ice and such.

Got the quarters on and fully welded, since the pic, been ground down, trimmed, etc... need to do a little welding now that I can turn it on its side, but time to finish some other patching and start stipping it.

68rr ht on the left, 69 rr post on the right, neither is for sale, the 69 has been there since 76 and 68 since 94.   :roflsmiley:  Both my dads and hes saving them for retirement projects.  The 69 he had since 74, factory 999 orange.  Thanks Rusty, its great to see it this far from that last pic!  Just wish it was spring so I could get it blasted.

I started on another and this is about how far I made it... then this one showed and had to get on it.  I enjoy the work, just wish we had nicer weather.  Thanks

Been a while since I updated this thread.  Finally got the shell blasted, started on other panels, but had enough for the day.  Car cleaned up really nice, wasnt too rusty, a few areas, so the engine bay and jambs(non undercoated areas) were pretty easy to get to nice clean bare metal.  Underside was undercoating, so took some time, but the results make it worth it!

mmmm, looks awesome!  :ylsuper:

Thats also what I need to do in near future when the weather warms up. Almost everything welded and fixed so couple of weekends more and I'll also start cleaning and blasting the car to bare metal. What kind of sand blaster do you use?

Its a TIP I think... its a pressurized one, so works pretty well.  I know its give the air compressor a good workout!  It was in the 60s and sunny, so perfect weather for blasting.
