So far the only HEMI's that I have had the pleasure of driving have been new 5.7L and 6.1L cars and trucks. Hopefully I will own one in the next couple of years.

That is what my Uncles always said when I was growing up "In the 70's you could put a little bit of money into a 440 and blister a 426 hemi, but it would take to much $$$ to get the same out of a hemi".

Yes I have driven a few & built a few so far I have not been overly impressed , they do work well when they are built but with a hyd cam & 2 Carter carbs a  built 440 will take them

Never had the pleasure. But there's nothing like a Hemi in your living room. I once had a 340 with W-2 heads in my bedroom. That was bachelor days!!  :roflsmiley:

Nope I have never driven a 426 Hemi. I can only imagine how a well tuned 426 Hemi runs as I had a 440 6-barrel that would set you back into the seat when you nailed it. It almost scared the crap out of me everytime I would floor it.

Heck, I'd be happy just to get my car on the road to drive it!

1967 Hemi Coronet R/T 4spd.
1969 Hemi GTX auto 4:10's
1970 Hemi Cuda auto 4:10's
1970 Hemi Charger R/T SE auto 4:10's
1971 Hemi Challenger 4spd.

The performance of these cars never impressed me. A good 440 car could easily beat any of these.
