6 Pac anyone
« on: January 01, 2007 - 11:05:39 AM »
Well I just couldn't justify spending the money on a HEMI so now I am thinking about going with a six pack.. Has anyone out there bought a complete kit from Koller Dodge or Bill Kay Dodge. They are suppose to be complete--need nothing. If so how do you like the set up ??
I guess I am just getting bored with my car and want to change something.

Have you looked at the 2x4 manifold Edelbrock makes? It's different and something I don't THINK the factory come out with.

I have purchased complerte systems From Art @ Six Pack Performance in New Mexico, he makes all the smaller parts himself & powder coats everything orange
 the Bill Kay sysytems would be all Mopar parts & there is no reason why they would not work well

js27,

  If you are bored with your car, maybe we can trade for a while?  :lol: The 6-Pak set-up is certainly cheaper than a Hemi. It adds a certain appeal under the hood too.  :thumbsup: I hope you enjoy it!!

I bought a Cuda new in 1973. After a couple of years, I pulled out the smallblock, and put in a 383. At that time, I found a 2x4 stock Chrysler iron manifold for it. It ran great. After another few years, I lent it to a friend of mine, whole lent it to someone he knew, and it disappeared. I never got it back, but I know it was a Chrysler manifold, although I  never knew what it came off of.

there were a lot of 2x4 bbl systems in the late 50 & early 60 s on 300s , Furys etc
this was before the time of big CFM carbs so just run 2 of the smaller carbs !

The install went great today. I have not finished a couple of the little things like hook the fuel line up, that will be done tomorrow. Great kit the pictures that came with the install kit weren't the best but that's mopar for you. The kit did not come with the solenoid, which I am still not sure what it is for. The air cleaner is all steel, which is very nice. My advice which I am sure many others have already discovered is to install the fron carb fisrt, cuz the center carb gets in the way of one of the mounting bolts for the front carb. The kit did not come with all of the small vacuum lines which is not a big deal, and did not have a fuel line that goes from the front t-block to the fuel pump, again not a big deal. I would reccomend the kit, however if you are going to get it from Bill Kay and pay with a credit card make sure that your billing address is not a PO Box, their credit card machine for some reason does not recgonize PO Box address for billing. I will be posting pictures tomorrow in the members restoration page under 71 cuda update (Merry Christmas to me). Hope this helps. If you want more information feel free to ask I will be more than willing to help any way I can.

the idle solinoid drops the throttle fully closed when the key is shut off to stop run on  , I have never seen a kit come with htis part & it really isn`t nessisary except to look 100 % correct

I talked to Art a couple of weeks ago and he said they were getting their website up and running. I checked and found the site, here's the link;
