I paid 9k for my 70, but it needed a trunk and drivers inner fender plus bodywork. 10-15k wont get you a rust free 71 by any means, you might be able to get a 70 for close. Good luck.

I'd pay up to 20k for the right car but for 20k it would haft to be close to a turn key car.

If you find a turn key 70 - 71 Cuda for 20K or less, You better drive it like ya stole it. Probably because you just did for that price. ;)

You wont get a turn key car for 20k. That just wont happen. 25 to 30k with a 318 or slant 6. The days of 70-71 cudas cheap are long gone.

There are still a few out there. I know of a 70 that the guy wants $20k for. Originally a 318 car, now 440. Metal replaced and freshly painted, but seats are ripped up and the dash pad is cracked.

Also knew of a 70 that was originally a 383 car. Had no drivetrain and needed some interior work, but all metal was replaced and freshly painted. He sold it for $19k just recently.

Neither of those two cars you just described are turn key. Turn key means that it is finished needing zero work.

True, but you wouldn't have $50k-$70k in them either. The running one would only need $1k to fix the interior.

I  guess my best bet is to find a car that maybe needs little things like maybe paint or interior.  I feel that in the future these crazy mopar prices will drop and  then maybe I'll get lucky. It will be a 70 or 71 barracuda for me. i don't like   the 72-74 tail lights.

The only reason I see the market softening at the moment is because the entire economy is hurting. I don't see them dropping much though, unless someone has to get out from under one. Keep looking every once in a while a deal does pop up.
