Vendor Question...
« on: January 05, 2007 - 07:57:26 PM »
I did a post earlier about some Ralley Wheels under parts wanted. But I think this is really more of a Vendor question. I want to order some 15X8 Ralley's. But from .....?   :dunno: Lots of vendors but who's had the best service/quality/price. I'm trying to cut down on future frustration!   :swear: Thanks!

I don't know about best price, but I have gone through Howard Cook at Newstalgia Wheels and can't say enough good things about the way I have always been treated.

When I put new rubber under my cuda I had to go to a wider rim to fit the tires I wanted. I bought 2 raylle rims(15x8) through Wheel Vintiques.  I think you can buy them thru Jeggs or Summitt and save on shipping costs this way.

Haven't ever bought Ralley's through Summit but other wheels. I got a Cragar SS that I wasn't pleased with, the other 3 looked great but one had a flake of chrome missing. I was hot and called them up. I didn't have to raise hell, they were apologetic and said they were sending another wheel right away that night. I asked them who was going to pay for me to return the damaged wheel, they said to keep it. So then I had 5.
I believe Summit gets their Ralley's through Wheel Vintiques, not sure, if so it is a good bet that is the best place to get them and from what they did for me I recommend them.
I haven't shopped for catalog parts anywhere else since then.

I've bought wheels and other stuff through Summitt, and they are very customer oriented. Also, when I bought some wheels there a few years ago, they had a neat computer program running in the wheel department. You could call up various cars, and look at how all of the different wheels look on it. I've never seen that anywhere else. You'd be surprised how quickly you can change your mind about a set of wheels once you actualy see how they will look on various cars.

I bought my Magnum 500s from Summit Racing and it went flawlessly, so I can recommend them from a service standpoint.  Their prices are really good, too.

I bought mine from Jegs. The boxes they came in said Wheel Vintiques though. Keep in mine you will also have to buy the center caps and trim rings for them. They do not make 15X8 trim rings, so you have to use 15X7's and have a one inch gap.

I just recieved new trim rings from yearone. They fit better than the stock ones as far as the reveil at the rim edge and the center. The valve stem hole is not correct though. It will require removing the ring to check tire pressure. Also the finish has a nickle/gold tint to it but looks very shinny. The ring is not as ridgid (thinner) making them a little more difficult to install.

Now, the new center caps I picked up at my local Dodge dealer yesterday are flawless. I decided to tap the blank mounting posts and use 1/4-20 x3/4' bolts instead of using the self tapping screws. I was kinda worried about splitting the post or cross theading them.

My  :2cents:

BTW: Great board, lots of good info here. :ylsuper:

Thanks for your responses, that's one thing I really like about C-C...good info!!  :ylsuper: Now I need 2 wheels dont need centers or lug nuts. My trim rings are good but I have 2  chrome/2brushed  want 2 more chrome

Anyway here's what I know so far...

ralleywheelman... ebay.. way too much!!  Example- $585 4 a set of 4 (15X7)+ $10 each for 15X8 = $156 each + ship

Vintique .. $106+ each

Summit  ... $95+ each   and they are Vintique

Jegs ... $91+ each and they are Vintique

hmmmmm

Mopar performance OEM trimn rings 89+

My cost local dealer $75

Mopar Performance Emblem 426HEMI $51+

Mancini (same emblem) $47+

With the exception of trim rings at my local dealer all other prices are from their perspective websites. Wondering if any of these places offer shop discounts? When I ordered my floor mats from ACC it was like 37-38%... now that would be real good!!!

I order some rallye wheels from Jegs and they are Wheel Vintique. The service was great and I recieved them in 2 days. No shipping but handling was $9.95 and a $2.95 zone charge. The wheels are very nice and I had them checked to make sure they were straight when I had my tires mounted. I think some of the package deals are the way to go if you need caps and trim rings.
