Have any of you guys done some work or are familiar with the -92 3.0L V6 engine.
I got a coolant leakage on my wifes -92 LeBaron.
Did replace the waterpump, but it still pours from underneath the pulleys even though I haven`t started it.
When I pulled the old pump it sure seemed to come from behind the pump.
My question: could there be something underneath the intake manifold who can cause a leak, such as a rubberhose or anything.
Thought I should ask you guys first before I remove the intake.

I have a 3.3L Caravan & had a leak that appeared to be the pump but turned out to be a metal   ?bypass?   tube. The garage that made the repair said it was a dealer only item.

The inlet for the pump (placed on the backside of the pump underneath the intake manifold) attaches to a tube, who is o-ringed to seal against the pump, this tube seems to be flexible as I can viggle it just a little. Thats why I wonder about a rubberhose. If there is no rubberhose then something must have got broken.
Bullit, do you know of if that tube (bypass?) of yours sat behind the pump underneath the intake?

Just looked at the 3.3L & it must be different. My pump mounts low & toward the front of the car. The tube I think they replaced is on the forward side of the block. I don't see anything like you describe. HOWEVER I do recall a '89 caravan that did have something like that in the intake area that leaked but it's long gone, was the Mitsubishi motor at that time.

This is the Mitsubischi engine,darn japs can`t build an engine, lol.
The timingbelt also drives the waterpump, so when the waterpump breaks down you have a massive engine meltdown,
sort of.

3.0 has a tube that goes from the water pump,under the intake and to the radiator hose above the transmission on the driver side.  :screwy:  "O" ring seal on both ends. It should not be loose.

Have to let the steam out.
Darn japs can`t build an engine. How the h*^^l can they place a tube for the coolant underneath the intake without using material that doesn`t rust. There, that felt good.

Yeah, well it makes me wonder.
Lets just hope that they got this as an replacement part at either Chrysler or Mitsubishi.

It's not the same from Mitsubishi, - you got to have it from Chrysler..

Yahh. Know, you American guys don't know the Saratoga... Do you..???

What does the Saratoga look like? We had an aircraft carrier named USS Saratoga(CVA 60). Her maiden voyage was to the Norwegian Sea to participate in Operation Strikeback, joint naval maneuvers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries. I had a SOHC 3.0 in a Dodge Stealth, wished it was a DOHC. Our military has a Fighter/Attack Bomber called the Stealth. Coincidence??? Hmmm....

Ohhh. It looks like a Dodge Dynasty (Die-Nasty). I would like to find a Four door. Preferably an early 80's cop car w/ a V8 but maybe one of those if it were in decent shape. The 3.slow isn't a bad engine. I like the black GTI in the background.
