I get about 7-8mpg average... and I use to work 30 miles from home! Was horrible on gas  :smilielol: Half of it was city miles too! So that helped none.

When I drove the Power Tour over the summer,I really babied the car,never went over the speed limit for an entire tank of gas.The car got over 20 mpg,kind of cool considering 2 days later it went 12.400@111mph.When I drive like my normal self{holeshots at every red light} it gets bad gas milage too.5.7 Hemi with GM engine management

15-16 mpg Highway with 440 six pack, 3000+ stall converter, 4.30 gears and GV overdrive (in effect 3.30 ratio at the axle).

However when at 0-30mph in the city it drinks the juice so fast I can see the fuel gauge has dropped a little every 10 mins or so and at full throttle acceleration....well...The gas does not last long at all. :bigsmile:

I forgot to say. We are paying around $6.50 per US gallon for petrol at the moment at the current exchange rate.

Not all that good, 340 Auto 3.55 gear , T-Q , Headers with 2 1/2 exh. ,  28" tire, was getting 10 mpg, changed cam got 15 mpg, (doggie cam), then changed again to a 309 comp. Back down to 11-12 mpg, but has alot more power....

5.5 km/100 litres average  :smilielol:
Seriously though, with an over-cammed (.450 lift/290 duration) 318 auto slapstick, Holley 600, Edelbrock  "Streetmaster", 340 exhaust manifolds, & 3:23 gears:
Average = 13mpg
Best = 18mpg
It doesn't help when you love that slapstick and shift at 5g's. BTW, those numbers were converted to US gallons...John

Just a point that might have been said already but I missed?

If you select the axle gears that allow you to cruise at your highway speed, at the same rpm as your engine makes peak torque, then you will get the best gas mileage.

This 340 bored 30 over 360+h.p.,cam,rpm intake,carter 650,headers,4 speed,3:91's.This car gets better gas mileage than  I was expecting! If I drive "normal" :bigsmile:I get 17mpg easy! It's such fun to let her go... :burnout: I can rip around all day on a tank. I love the 340!! The 3:91's really launch hard,but they top out too soon for real highway use.I may try 3:55's?or O.D.?   I'm @ 4500 rpm's going 80mph.With flowmasters this car sounds incredible on the freeway!I feel like I should be on an oval track of something!  :stirpot:

I've only taken one trip with mine, back when it had the dual four bbl setup.

392 hemi with 2 600 CFM Edelbrocks with progressive linkage, 727 Torqueflite, 3.23 gears and 265/60 tires (28" tall). I got 15 MPG on that trip driving 75 MPH on the interstate.
