    I noticed the colour of the rear panel as well.  When I bought my car the front and rear were painted black with gold metallic flecs as well.  Was this common to do in the 70's?

      You must have had a custom paint job. No gold flakes, for sure. Can you post a pic of your's?

    Here is a copy of the best picture I have.  This is the rear of the car just before it went into paint.  You can sorta see the metallic flake in the black paint

    Is that sort of like the argent that is used on '71 center caps?  It reminds me of a post that someone did with ? Rustoleum paint? on thier center caps?  Who was that?  :clueless:
