motor oil artical in Hot Rod mag
« on: January 07, 2007 - 09:46:45 AM »
in the latest Hot Rod mag, the one that has "engines" on the cover, there is an artical called "when good cams go bad", They give shell rotella  a big thumbs up for flat tappet cams. Also the quacker state got a good review.

Amsoil, Shell Rotella... Anything with the CI-4 rating on it.  The BIG question is, how long before they change it?  :dunno:

I ran my car on royal purple last summer and after 50 passes at the track and about 1500 miles the main and rod bearings still had the white paint on them. I think this summer tho, I am going to try amsoil.

Hughes Engines has a great article on cams, oils and additives.  They ship this bulletin with their cams.  Check their website.

The best so far has been a 10.9, but thats on crappy fuel and street slicks. I think I am going to try bigger carbs this summer and mabey a little nos. I,m sure there should be low 10,s in there somewhere.
