My 'cuda has the rear valance without the cut outs for the cuda exhaust tips. But the fender tag sayes it should have the 'cuda exhuast tips. I heard from some guys here in Norway that 'cudas that where ordered for CA didn't have the 'cuda exhaust tips even tough the fender tag states so. Is this true? Vin is BS23N0E######

I think you would have sales code N95 on the fender tag and that would included turned down exhaust tips.

...it was to meet noise requirements.....the sound of the tips chattering against the rear valance (mine chattered and buzzed all the time when they were new)  :roflsmiley:

...seriously, I had heard that thru the years, but not for sure

A Cuda built for California sale in 1970 would have the turn down tips IF it was a 440-6 or Hemi car. The code in N97

Since this one is a 383 car someone must have changed the valance at some point.

Ok, that was what I thought. As the 'cuda has some parts from a donar car. Like 2-speed wipers (should be 3-speed), A/C controler from a none-rally dash (should be a rally dash A/C controller). And the rear valance. I'll just have to replace it then  :ylsuper:

Thanks Barry

V code car (440+6) built to be sold in CA would have both N95 & N97.  Only B Body 383's built for sale in CA could have N97 code.  No 383 e bodies came with N97.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
