Bigblock offset ( w pic )
« on: January 07, 2007 - 02:52:47 PM »
From what I understand 383/440's are offset 2 inches to the right? Correct?  :dunno: Is the HEMI also 2 inch or is it a little more?? Thanks!

They are all offset for steering box clearance, how much I don't know.

Correct, just I've had to make some adjustments to my Shaker base. When I get it done I'll post some pics and it will show why I asked.  Figure somebody here knows...  :clueless:

I do not know the Exact offset measurement , butyou should be able to figure ti oput just from the shaker itself , measure to the middle of the shaker & see how many inchs the carb center is offset , JS is correct , all V8s were offset

Here's the basis for my question... look at my Shaker base insert. Nice hey...  :faint: I dont know what its orginally from. Or who thought this was a good idea..  :banghead:  We are in the process of fixing this problem  -I will post more pics of this later- . Any way my Shaker bubble never exactly lined up with my hood propery. The hood lines are good but the ring we are welding in is not centered to the configuration of the base. Its more to the right (pass side). It's the only way we can seem to get proper bubble alignment with the hood.  :screwy:

looks like th ebase was cut for a Dominator carb which seems like an excellent idea to me , for certain engines anyway
